Olamaie Curtiss Graney Design Lab
In an era when teachers are expected to personalize learning experiences for their students, designing instruction, learning tools, and learning environments may be the most challenging and exciting part of teachers’ work. This is when the teacher engineers the units of study to ensure that the widest range of learners have meaningful access to the content they are learning. The design environment will take advantage of cutting edge materials and technologies to allow teachers to design their teaching to optimize learning.
This environment will be equipped with a 3D printer, write-able walls, smart boards, application engines, work tables, as well as more traditional design equipment such as laminators, 2D printers/scanners, and concrete manipulative materials. Our goal is to make this environment accessible 24/7 for Simmons students and their colleagues to collaborate in building evidence-based lessons and to critique and share ideas.
